FAQ on your PDA

Have you ever tried to mentally recall an often-used piece of data but were unable to remember all of it? Whether it's the pin number for your bank card (Was it 1408 or 1804?) or your spouse's birthday (Uh-oh!), we all have a zillion bits of data to keep up with. Here's a way to let your PDA do the remembering so you don't have to.

You simply create a personal FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) list on your PDA!

----------------------HOT TIP ------------------------------

If you are in business, you can create a PDA version of your FAQ for clients to download to their PDA. That way, YOUR information is always near! ------------------------------------------------------------

Using the memo feature on your PDA you enter the question you want the answer to as the subject line of the note. Then place the answer to the question as a memo attached to that note. Now when you need to find that errant bit of data, you simply scan the memo portion of your PDA for the question in your mind.

To enhance this technique, you can categorize the questions by subject. Let's say you want to bring a date to a restaurant that you know will impress. Rather than rely on your memory to see if the service was good, just choose the restaurant category of your FAQ. Now you can quickly find the restaurant with good food, great service AND the right atmosphere.

Like all things, you will get out of this what you put in. The more detailed your notes the better.

While you may be used to using one memo pad as a "cheat sheet" for frequently needed data, taking this idea to the next level can save you time and give you one place to keep the random pieces of data that fill our lives.
