Marketing strategies and the technical wording game have left many web owners in the dark. Though it sounds technical and impossible to comprehend, it really is very simple. The goal of the product website is to build a database of potential clients, customers or potential revenue generation. Without gathering information about the visitor it is impossible to contact or send them future offers. This is the reason that professional marketers have developed what is known as opt-in or squeeze pages. This is one of the most effective marketing strategies on the net today and can build a huge database in a short amount of time. The Opt-in and squeeze page are the same thing and are both designed to collect information, especially the email address of potential clients/customers. These pages are typically very specific in their design to help keep visitors on them and have them enter their email address. The squeeze page generally makes an offer or provides information, in which the visitor is searching in return for their contact information. After the visitor has entered the appropriate information the newsletter, press release or other product is delivered to their email address. Typically the information is used to deliver coupons, offers or other information to the client at a later date. Working in addition to the squeeze page is generally an email auto responder. This automated system allows information to be delivered to the visitor immediately after entering their contact information. Auto responders can be designed or set up to offer whatever the web owner desires. It may be email correspondence, a database password or other information that gives the visitor whatever they are searching for. If the information is provided to the visitor without gathering their information the potential client database does not grow, therefore decreasing the likelihood of an email marketing campaign, or revenue. The opt-in or squeeze page should have limited information on it. The goal of this page is to keep the visitor on the page until they have typed in their email address or other contact information. If there are hyperlinks or distracting information the visitor may click away from the page or become distracted. This simplistic design helps with the urgency or need to enter information to derive that end result. For example, if the visitor is looking for an article or informational piece on remodeling or building they would not receive this information until their email address had been entered. The squeeze page is the fastest way to build a client database. Without clients the value of the site and revenue is not as great as it could be. In other words if the site owner does not have a list of potential customers they have no one to send information or offers to. Most website owners have found that they can obtain success and generate traffic/sales through informational pieces such as newsletters or other email offers. The manner by which a website is valued is the amount of traffic, returning clients and email subscribers, making the squeeze page a necessity.
