In other words, the webmasters must view a certain number of websites of other members in order to earn enough "hits" to get the credits to help promote their own website. With the lowest membership, webmaster usually have to view a lot of other websites to actually make a difference in their own but there are higher memberships available which lower the required credit ratio, which is how the credits are determined. Although traffic exchanges may be free, upgraded or paid memberships are going to provide the webmaster with many more benefits. Webmasters can always help other members, especially if the other member's website is of particular interest to them. For example, a webmaster that builds and sells computers may find an affiliate or member's website that sells software to be very interesting to him. Therefore, he may make mention of the other member's website on his own, thus directing traffic that way. This is one way of also getting more traffic towards your own website. Website owners are also encouraged to build their own referral networks, which greatly increasing the number of visitors as well as the number of credits. Although traffic exchange programs are usually used by network marketers that want free advertising, they are also a great method of advertising for small business owners. Traffic exchanges programs are also an inexpensive method of advertising, and advertising is what will get your business off the ground and keep it going.
