The Depth Jumping Exercise

By: GuruRecruiter

This is a simple and fun exercise routine used to increase the vertical jump. It is terrific for beginners looking for an exercise to jump higher.

Start with the lower heights and reps and work up and make sure that you are healthy and in good basic condition before you begin this exercise.

You will need a box from eight to sixteen inches high or you can use any flat surface. Wear cross training or running shoes.

Here are the Steps:

· Stretch your legs.

· Stand straight on the box or other flat surface. Maintain good posture.

· Hop off the box while keeping your back straight.

· Land FLAT on you feet and bend your knees to approximately a 40% angle. Bend your arms at a right angle and behind you to prepare for the leap you are about to make. Make sure not to arch your back.

· When landing, straighten your legs and move your arms forward immediately for an explosive leap.

· You can place two or three boxes 2’ to 4’ feet apart and do this exercise in a rapid sequence. Avoid doing more than 2-4 reps without resting especially if your muscles are not used to this particular exercise.
